My name is Sloan Rousos, I am 23 years old, and I am a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. I grew up in Commerce Township, MI. I started dancing recreationally at the age of three and started dancing competitively by the age of six. I began my competitive dance career at Dance House in West Bloomfield, MI, under the direction of Kim and Shayna Fink. From a very young age I was trained in multiple styles of dance including jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary. Through my years at Dance House, I had the privilege of training with many well known choreographers. Some of these choreographers include Sonya Tayeh, Brooke Pierotti, Anthony Morigerato, Mark Meismer, Will Loftis, and others. Along with competitive dance, I was also on the Varisty Pom team at Walled Lake Northern High School. I started choreographing and teaching in high school at both the dance studio and for the pom team. After graduating from high school, I chose to continue my dance career on a collegiate level at Western Michigan University. At Western Michigan I pursued a BA in dance and a Minor in holistic health. During my undergraduate years at WMU, I was trained by teachers and choreographers such as Monique Haley, Carolyn Pavlik, David Curwen, Sharon Garber, Jeremy Blair, and Whitney Moncrief. Through all four years of college, I was a teacher and choreographer at West Michigan Dance Center located in Kalamazoo, MI. I was also the artistic director of a student run organization called Hip Hop Connxion. After graduating from college, I moved to Royal Oak, MI and began working for Adagio Dance Company as a teacher and choreographer as well as traveling with Hall of Fame Dance Challenge, a competitive dance competition.
